Le Čhavendar
The band Le Čhavendar is based on the traditions of top Romani musicians. However, Le Čhavendar tries to enrich this tradition and musical art with a number of modern musical elements.
The result is an interesting blend of Romani folklore enriched with jazz, samba, flamenco, salsa and funk.
Le Čhavendar has been in existence for 20 years. Many festivals in the Czech Republic and abroad testify to the band’s musical qualities.
Le Čhavendar have played at the most prestigious ethno festivals such as Respect, Prague Pride or Khamoro. From abroad, it is worth mentioning the Thames Festival London, which is held annually in central London and is one of the most visited festivals in the UK.
Le Čhavendar are also the winners of the 2005 Zlíntalent Music Award for the Best Original Achievement. This award contributed to a documentary made by Czech Television.
